Do you work on commission or contingency?

No. And we won’t. The AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards prohibits it — finder’s fees, contingency fees, percentage-based compensation. None of it. Organizations that offer to pay that way should reconsider.

Do you guarantee a funding outcome?

No grant writer who’s being honest with you will. What we guarantee is a proposal that’s rigorously researched, compellingly written, and built to be compliant — one that gives your organization a legitimate shot at winning.

What types of grants do you write?

How long before we see results?

Responses from potential funders can take anywhere from 4 to 12 months. We consider grant seeking a “long-game,” and recommend contracts for 12 to 18 months to create a solid foundation at the nonprofit.

Do we need a 501(c)(3) first?

For most grant funding, yes. But it’s not required to engage Adamson Splawn for strategic planning or program design. Some organizations work with us to get ready before the 501 is finalized.

What happens after we win a grant?

Do we need SAM.gov registration for federal grants?

Yes. Federal applicants must have active SAM.gov and login.gov accounts before submitting. We walk clients through that process as part of federal grant preparation.

How long are your contracts, and how long does it take to see fundraising results?
